SUMMARY:Sustainability Workshop: Cooking Using the Summer Glut
DESCRIPTION:Summer is a key season for garden production. But often there is more produce than we can handle at home. We can give it away\, freeze or preserve it\, or it gets thrown out. We want to increase food security and encourage growers to store their excess produce and eat it thorughout the year. So what can you do with it in the colder months? \nJoin local gardener\, home cook\, and founder of Bliss\, Jen Waddell\, for this insightful workshop. In this workshop you will learn how to use the summer glut in the dead of winter as Jen talks about things you cook and eat\, and home/beauty products you can make at home to save money and stay healthy. \nThis month we have a WINTER SPECIAL ticket price of just $5\, which include all materials for the workshop and morning tea. This workshop will be held INSIDE Timbertop Community Centre (not out in the garden) \nWorkshop Level: Beginner-Intermediate \nPlease note\, while kids are welcome to particpate with their parent/carer\, this workshop is aimed at adults.

SUMMARY:Living in Symbiosis - an Archeology of the Future
DESCRIPTION:More than a method of work\, “Archeology of the future” is a true approach to the built landscape established by Lina Ghotmeh throughout her practice. Founder of Lina Ghotmeh — Architecture\, Paris based discipline\, Lina Ghotmeh’s designs develop from thorough historical research emerging as exquisite interventions that enliven our memories and senses. \nIn this “Archeology of the future”\, every architecture is drawn from its place and from the traces of its past. A link is drawn between time\, memory\, space establishing an anchored place drawing a strong tie between the Humane and Nature. The past meets the future as histories are unearthed and memories excavated to enable questioning\, innovation\, and a more sustainable architecture. \nBearing a “humanist” approach\, Lina Ghotmeh’s practice emphasises the power of craft and that of the hand in the making of Architecture. Through this\, the built embraces the traditions of its localities\, while uplifting the subjective experience and the collective memory of those it recalls.
