SUMMARY:ANPSA Biennial Conference and Seminar
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited about The Australian Native Plants Society (Australia) Biennial Conference\, which will take place September 30th to October 4th 2024. The five-day conference has a broad theme of “Gardens for life” and will cover such topics as gardens for wildlife\, conservation of rare species through cultivation\, gardens for beauty\, for our cities and for our health. There will be two days of excursions and three days of excellent presentations and workshops. \nOur committee is narrowing down a fine list of speakers and presenters and we have decided on three five-day bus tours – Wilson’s Promontory and Gippsland\, the Otway Coast and South West Victoria and the Grampians (Gariwerd) and The Little Desert. These will be exceptional wildflower tours with expert guides.

SUMMARY:Birrarung Trial Floating Wetlands - Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:City of Melbourne has installed floating wetlands in the Yarra River as a part of a trial supported by the Victorian Government. This is a significant milestone for the city-shaping Greenline Project. The lower stretch of the Yarra River Birrarung was once a rich ecosystem of riparian vegetation and seasonal wetlands\, and the species diversity it supported made it an important place for the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and the people of the broader Eastern Kulin nation. \nBook a Tour\nJoin the Project team on every second Friday of each month to explore this unique river installation. Ecologists\, researchers\, and wetland specialists may co-host certain tours. You’ll observe native plants and wildlife\, including black swans\, cormorants\, darters\, ducks\, and gulls\, resting on log bannisters surrounded by sedges. \nThis tour is suitable for all ages and abilities. We strive to make our events inclusive and accessible to everyone.
