The University of Melbourne and the Friends of Burnley Gardens invite you to our Burnley Gardens Open Day and the launch of Michèle Adler’s book

Burnley Gardens: Their Design and the People who loved them on Sat 19 October (10:30am -3 pm) 

Join us to celebrate the magical Burnley Gardens:

  • 10:30 – 11:15 am: Launch of Michèle Adler’s book – Burnley Gardens: Their Design and the People who loved them with Assoc. Prof Claire Farrell (Director of Burnley Campus), Prof. Moira O’Bryan (Dean of Science Faculty) and Michèle Adler
  • 11:30 am- 3:00 pm:Guided garden walks showcasing the first principal C.B. Luffmann at Burnley (Sandi Pullman), Spring in the gardens (FOBG guides), the herb garden (Sam Taylor) and vignettes in the garden
  • 11:30 am- 3:00 pm:Guided research walks of the Green Roof (John Rayner and Dean Schrieke), Raingarden (Chris Szota) and Woody Meadow (Claire Farrell)
  • University of Melbourne course information and advice
  • Friends of Burnley Gardens membership, Burnley Gardens book and plant sale
  • Country Women’s Association refreshments
  • Burnley Botanic Art Group and Burnley Archives Exhibition
  • Information stalls for the Herb society and the Australian Garden History Society
